Every now and then i have seen people creating a thread to get useful tips or asking for config before buying or upgrading a PC or laptop. Why dont we use one thread for this purpose like other topics? So i hope members will use this thread for this purpose without creating his own thread.

A friend of mine has allocated 30k and is looking for a config for his new PC. Suggestions required plz. He mainly wantsto know procy-mobo-ram combination.

Hey i'm going in for a Compaq Presario V6211 with te following config:

• 1.6 GHz, Level 2 cache 256 KB + 256 KB, Up to 1600 MHz system bus running at AC/DC mode 35 Watt
Operating system installed Genuine Windows Vista™ Home Basic
Standard memory 512 MB
Memory layout (1 x 512 MB)
firstly i was wondering about the GFX card i get with it, the NVIDIA® GeForce™ Go 6150, is it any good? (might occasionally play a game or 2, yes i know laptops aren't for gaming but still ;D )
Secondly how much additional RAM should i put in?

Plz suggest me whether E4300 or AMD Athlon™ 64 X2 Dual-Core 4200+/4400+/4600+? If it comes to AMD then i have thought of Asus M2N4 SLI. Plz comment on that. I will go for a gfx card of around 3k-4k. 1gb ram. Now plz suggest. Total budget Rs.20K (for cabinet upgradation only).

amd x2 4400+ or higher which ever suits ur budget go with it along with an msi mobo
