Win Xp sp2 too slow

hello frens,

im new to this forum....pls somebdy help me with my problem....
my pc is a P IV, 256 MB ram, winxpsp2, 845 intel...

my pc runs too slow....is it bcoz of the zone alarm...if it is thn pls suggest me some good antivirus, antispyware software fr me coz i hv a 24 hr internet and constantly downld music and stuff....

if it is nt bcoz of the zone alarm thn pls find out some reason fr it...
my firefox also goes upto 50000 kb usage gradually....

it is abnormal..
im really irritated...pls help me...

First of ALL Uninstall that "SpeedUp My PC" :D lool, no wonder the PC is slow.


yup ZAP is a bit resource hog, why not try by turning it OFF.

i jst run this speed up my pc sometimes only....generally it is nt running....

and if i turn of ZAP thn i dnt feel secure coz i have a bad habit of constantly downloading stuff....

else pls suggest me some othr antivirus/antispyware....

free - AVG Free.

i too have the same config. except m/b (915g), i'm usin Kaspersky Internet Security , & sometimes ZAP. (ZAP is not in start-up)

KIS misses many adwares/spywares, but ZAP catches them :D, happens only when you visit "THOSE" sites often :D

do you have Zone Alarm Pro (ZAP) or its security suite (ZASS 7)?

if later, then stay with it, coz its the best package out there.



try clearing junk files, cleaning resigtry, defragmenting...

use TuneUp Utilities 2007 (paid) for registry cleaning & CCleaner for clearing junk files.
