Since you only want a truckload of features (which isn't the right thing to look for), I suppose the N95 is your best bet.

The phone is priced at 33k with bill.
For all the people who are little apprehensive about the price, first should take a look at the features.
It is currently the most feature rich phone, atleast from Nokia, and also in India.
*S60 3rd Edition, Feature Pack 1
*GPS (It has an inbuilt GPS, a feature which most people in india wont be making much use of, but that is your mistake.)
*3.5G ( 10 Times faster than 3G, but not yet of any use in India).
*Dual CPU (332 MHz;3D Graphics HW Accelerator)
*HSDPA; WCDMA; EGPRS; GPRS; HSCSD; CSD ( I agree they are there in most of the phones, but HSDPA and WCDMA are high end)
*Bluetooth 2.0 +EDR
*Mini Stereo Plug 3.5mm (This phone has a direct socket for 3.5mm audio plugs, so you can now directly plugin you speakers for awsome music)
*Nokia Audio Visual Plug 3.5mm
*It has support for Wifi and also Voip
*A2DP, AVRCP, BIP, BPP, DUN, FTP, GAVDP, GOEP, HFP, HSP, OPP, SAP Bluetooth profiles
*5MP Primary camera as well as a secondary camera
*TV Out
With all these features, it is bound to cost this much, still what is surprising that N93 was near about the same cost one time, so you cant say that this is hell expensive.
@aryayush
Truckloads of excellent and top end features are a nice lookout, i guess
One Major downpoint - PLASTIC FINISH

You forgot UPnP support, VGA video recording at 30 fps, two way sliding with dedicated music keys, 2.6" QVGA 16.77 million colour display, stereo speakers, and inbox 1gb card (upto 2gb supported). Did i mention its from Nokia?

And you can't have metal in a phone which is crammed with so many radio devices in it (calls, gprs, bluetooth, wi-fi, gps, fm). It'll obstruct its functionality.
Pathik
28-04-2007, 04:51 PM
^^ now krazy that s not true... :p
there are many fones wit these features but they ahv a metal body...
the main thing is that they may hav wanted to make it lighter... and make it appeal to some ppl like me...
infra_red_dude
28-04-2007, 05:07 PM
^^^ yeah, metals haf greater permittivity than plastics..... plus the body is isolated. so it may actually aid the operation. but it makes them heavier.
iPhone has better looks i think .
i hate nokia , i love apple and Sony .
Does n95 has Touchscreen B-)

Metal does not aid permittivity of radio frequencies. It obstructs it. Check out all the phones which have metal in their bodies (6300,8800, N91, E50, etc.) They do not have metal in their top of their back sides (since thats where the antenna is). My sister had a 3220 which supported cut-out covers at back, but nokia mentioned it in their user guide that the cut-out covers should not have metal particles in them, as they could obstruct the working of the antenna, reducing call quality, network reception and increasing battery consumption. In case of N95, the phone has 6 radio units positioned god knows where inside that compact body. So if metal was used anywhere, it might obstruct the working of one of the radio units. Tell me, have you guys ever seen a gps unit with metal on it?

iphone is not legally coming to Asia anytime soon leave alone India. So I do not think it should be procurable soon:)
New units will be Cingular locked AFAIK and if its lock can be cracked so fast, so much for MacOS being the most secure OS in the world. iPhone has a strpped down OSX na!!!!

^^ dont say stripped down.. Say optimised 4 mobile fones.. Btw only the e90 can pose a threat to the best fone status of n95 in the near future.. iPhone is way behind it.. Only the ui and music of iPhone can better those of n95.. Maybe..
alsiladka
29-04-2007, 12:35 PM
I dont think iPhone UI will go better than most of the phones in the market at present.
And unless Apple decides to release iPhone MacOSX API to the developers, it shall be a feature restricted phone.
E90 is really awsome man, it is gonna be even more expensive then N95. Two fully functional keypads and Screens!!!!
It is one hellofa phone.
Congrats on your N95.

^^Availability in Asia may not always be equal to availability in India. There are N number of thing available in Japan (which is in Asia) which are not available in India (again an Asian country). Even if it does come to rest of Asia and India the same day, that is still going to be in 2008 not in a few months as you said in reply 35.
Naturally I do have some idea of what I am saying. I hope that I am correct in thinking that iPhone will run a stripped down or as Pathiks said Optimised for mobile phone should be the first point of interaction for a user, if it fails to prevent the cracking of sim lock, well the lesser said the better.
I am not saying if iPhone is good or bad, I am just saying that as long as and even after it does come to India, will be be very popular among the common Indian. indians are just getting used to Symbian bro, it will be hard to make a switch so soon and moreover, how many of the Indian Janta would be even aware of something as iPhone when they do not even know wat an iMac is:)
Talking about this forum, I see that more people still prefer stand alone Media Players and Se/Nokia phones (purely my observation)

I hope that I am correct in thinking that iPhone will run a stripped down or as Pathiks said Optimised for mobile phone should be the first point of interaction for a user, if it fails to prevent the cracking of sim lock, well the lesser said the better.I still fail to see how it would reflect on the security of the Mac OS.

Seriously. I was actually very pleased that people won't know much about it since it an Apple product and I would be very unique when I finally own it. But that's not the case. Almost everyone knows about it. My brother, who has no idea what Macs are or that iPod is only made by Apple (he thinks all music players are iPods), knows about the iPhone. And I didn't tell him. He did not even know about Apple before the iPhone. It depends, you see. People did not know Apple at all when they just had Macs in their line-up. Then came the iPod and a fair amount of people came to know about Apple and Macs. Now that they have launched a mobile phone, a product that has a worldwide market of one billion, they are going to get a lot more visibility. People know that there's a new entrant in the mobile phone arena. Specially in India, people do know, and care about, what is the latest in mobile phones and all. :)

Can you give sourced to support your claim?
Dont bash me up, but this point is still mysterious. As up till, January, iPhone was supposed to be closed OS and no 3rd party support was going to be offered for applications, mind you applications, not accessories.
Apple had recieved a lot of criticism for this, and even online petitions were started by enthusiasts to force apple to support 3rd party applications on iPhone.
Then came the news that a game, on of poker, on Apples site promises compatibility with iPhone. But mysteriously, after some time, the iPhone support clause was deleted.
It would be better if you show up sources for you claim, in a quick glance over the web, this all was revealed to me.

It would be better if you show up sources for you claim, in a quick glance over the web, this all was revealed to me.Steve Jobs, in an interview with NewsWeek, had this to say about the rumours that were floating around saying that there would be no third party software for the iPhone:That doesn't mean there's not going to be software to buy that you can load on them coming from us. It doesn't mean we have to write it all, but it means it has to be more of a controlled environment. And in the recently held conference to declare the quarterly financial reports, the company declared that they will be releasing free software for both the iPhone and Apple TV.
Rest assured, there will be third party software for the iPhone and a lot of it will be free too (and you can always pirate the rest, if you are inclined to do so). :)

I have seen and was not satisfied as the pixels were big like n73 and not crispy like n80.. just check before taking.
Note: Nokia never makes any phone without any flaw!
This was the first 16million color display.. if you like n93i go for it.Its also having 16million color display. its display was real awesome and same range..But again in look point of view n95 rocks..
Better put your hand on them and decide.

Expensive matter has been discussed before. With all the features it packs ( though not usefull in India), it is pretty cheap and reasonable.
FM recording is not allowed in any phones as it goes against the Copyrights. I know a few phones from LG allow FM recording, but there was hue and cry against LG to allow to do so.
Battery horrible is a generalised statement. Recharging depends on your use and needs. WIth so many features inbuild, if you use all of them, it is obvious that you shall have to recharge it againa and again.
Camera bugs are present in every new phone, which Nokia solves with subsequent Firmware updates. Even Video quality can be improved using Firmware updates.
There is already a major firmware update out for N95, it has improved the noise in the images
Dual sliders prone to mechanical problems, you feel those people out there are fools not to have noticed this? Even at the time of Nokia 3250 people were rubbishing the twist interface calling it a mere problematic physic. I have been using it for an year, have not faced a single problem yet, nor has the twist got any loose.
Even the support for a higher storage memory card can be affed using Firmware updates.
I have no idea about Optical Zoom, but i believe N93 was marketed only as a Camera, whereas N95 is being marketed as a computer, Optical zoom was not expected.
Thats all.....He..He..heeee.........I can't laugh out more loud!!!!

I'm not going to spend twice the cost just to get photos in a bigger resolution which I am going to resize to 1280x1024 rez anyway...
