Use some other format. SE phones usually don't support wav files, and even if they do it has to be a low bitrate file. Still sound will be distorted.

Use aac or mp3

yes, most of them support this spec: 16bit, 22khz. why use wav when the phone supports aac/m4a/mp3? they are better in quality and consume lesser space.

Sony Ericsson W810i support wav files sampled upto 16000 Hz frequency.
So set sampling frequency below 16K or below & Enjoy.
