The cards have been tested here too, 7600 and 7900 are just kids in front of 8500 and 8600.

Dude do u read the same language as I do,

that links shows 8600GT as a disaster, a 1950Pro beats the 8600GT already, and 1950Pro is priced at $130, who are we kidding guys, a 7900GT is superior to a 1950Pro, and u are telling that 7900GT is a kid before 8600GT, was that a typo????? because from the benchmarks it seems that 7900GT will smoke the 8600GT anytime.

Look here, the guy has an aquamark of 62k on his 8600GT
http://forumz.tomshardware.com/hardware/8600GT-3dmarks06-benchmarks-ftopict232487.html

My overclocked 7600GT on my A64 gave me a 81114 aquamark score,
ok let us assume it has something against aquamark, then look at the 3dmark06 score, not impressive either.

no dude don't, get an 8800GTS or 1950Pro, or 7900GT.

I would buy an 8600GTS if it's priced as 11-12k, and 8600GT i priced at 9.5-10k, not more.

Suddenly all those waiting for mainstream DX10's feel so stupid....

I have to agree with Kniwor here. The G84 and G86 variants from Nvidia have been somewhat of a disappointment.
SO much for the cheapo DX10 cards...lol

but atleast theya re DX10 cards.. you wont get that gFX and performance in DX10 games if you play them on DX9c cards... so whether 7900 smokes anything or not.. a DX10 supported card will always be better , coz its not the upgrade from dx 9 to 9c its from 9c to 10... the whole platform changes...

and i have got a 8800GTX , now would 7900 or 1950 will smoke that too... if yes then i regret fo spending $1000 for two SLI cards..

ya i agree that in DX10 games the new cards will be better....but how many DX10 are there now...and i dunno how much of a perofrmance edge would a dx10 compatible card give you over the 7series cards.

and also no one is saying anything bout the 8800GTX.....so stop saying random things.

Dude, u need to read the post of mine again, I said about 8500/8600 cards ONLY, I have myself suggested getting 8800GTS if u read my post, and 8800GTX rocks(though SLI does not), so u got a decent setup there.

Dude would you care to back up ur claims.

Let's see some logic now, consider a game, say Crysis..., If we are talking about mid-range cards (8600's), we are not talking about playing crysis(or any modern games) on max settings, basically, u will have most graphic features disabled, so, I doubt u will be anyhow be able to play a modern game with DX10 gimmicks enabled, and a 7900GT will allow you do the same, after all, do u really believe DX10 is so well implemented in the first generation of DX10 games that it will make a lot of difference, only if u were able to play it at those settings....umm.. what seems better now, a $130 1950Pro, or that costlier 8600GT which will not even get as many FPS as the 1950Pro, it's your decision to make.

8800GTS is a great card for it's price at the moment.
