Which phone?

I'm planning to take a new cell phone and i have a budget of 10k (obviously can vary around tht a few hundreds...). My main interest is to have sufficient memory for music and also be pretty decent looking.
Would be wonderful if I can get some suggestions here also adding why I shud go for tht particular phone over others.

U are right. K550i is the new mob by SE. My brother has purchased it last week. It has got everything that K750 does infact even more features. Its only 14mm thick.
Those who complain abt loudness of SE phones...this phone is loud as much as Nokia 6233(which my sister has). Music and cam quality is quite good compared to 6233. But the screen size is small and no symbian.

Since ur primary concern is music and memory, go for W700i which comes with 256MB card.

Hey blushift, can you plz tell weather the keypad is easy & comfortable ? The only downside which is more due to being new is the Keypad of K550i

I think Joystick would have been a better option in K550i...

well since i already mentioned my primary concern includes music, and also since I'll be buying a camera phone, the camera shud also be pretty decent...i guess the sony ones wud lack there(memory)...the memory sticks being pretty expensive...and my MINIMUM memory requirement being 1GB(for which ill have to get an extended one anyway....cheaper in case of nokia again)...so from all this ive pretty much narrowed down to the NOKIA E50 till now...do lemme kno if u think ive made the right choice..or there still is some scope of better alternatives...
oh not to forget the symbian operatin system which is not there in other phones, making them much less extendable!...

gx_saurav: I feel the joystick is pretty much good. The only problem is the number keys which is clumsy initially...but u will get used to it after 2-3 days. hehe

Don't go for Symbian unless you are planning to do some really productive work with your mob. There are pretty descent free apps available for Java-based phones too.

If at all u want a symbian mob, then get no other than E50. Screen size is big, 1.2MP camera. Theres no FM on this phone though.

hmmm about the E50..since this is provided with only mono headphones, how much would it cost to get a stereo ones?..any idea anyone?

E50 does not come with any memory card. Also it comes with only one ear headset. Also sound quality of E50, although quiet good, isn't as good as W700i. Also the 1.3 mpix camera present in E50 is quiet basic and average in quality. I'll suggest you go for W700i instead. It has great sound quality, good 2.0 mpix camera and comes with a 256 mb memory card. And it comes within your budget.

You don't need to buy the original Sony memory stick pro duo. You can buy the fake one that most shops sell. They're much cheaper and perform just as good.

Apologies everyone!!!...for such a late response...was extremely busy these past few days...din get time to write any "review"...ANYWAY, so here goes...
The phone's pretty much worth its value...its extremely fast compared to other nokia symbian phones (not the E50 tho...thts the fastest till date!)...since i got the Music Edition, got the 1GB card with the phone itself, so i can store plentyyyyyy of songs (have 200 or so already and too tired to put more)..of course im compressing them first into "ogg" format and then using another software to run them...
Sound quality of the earphones is amazing!!!!....and yes, u get the converter wid the phone itself, so u can always use any other earphones if u need...
yet to experiment too much wid installing softwares on the phone, but the ones ive tried till now are running pretty smooth...
Last but not the least, the camera(s)...excellent quality here too..compared to other phones (especially sony which kinda distorts the picture..prolly stretches it artificially or somethin)...the pics with this one (the 2MP one) are really decent...pretty sharp...
Videos are a charm too!!!....check out the sample videos available online if u dun believe me...givin a sample one here...

Oh yes, the black cover is sexy too!!! :P...(everyone knows black stuff is better!...lolzzz ;) )

Overall, im extremely satisfied with my purchase and hoping this one lasts a long time :)....goin crazy wid the camera (photoblog productions hav already begun! :P )...

actually the n70 is very fast...
u just feel the lag in opening menus and stuff cos it was done b7y nokia on purpose to enhance the graphical aesthetics of the fone... btw 4 how much did u get it???

^^ I don't think Kalpik that N70 is faster than E50. All symbian S60 9.1 phones are faster than previous gen symbian S60 phones as the newer OS better utilises the phone's processing power. I think if we were to put a 2gb fully loaded card in both N70 and E50, E50 will not slow down as considerably as N70. Reviews all over net also suggest E50 is a very fast phone.

Hmm.. Probably.. But i was talking about the hardware aspect.. E50 has a 208 Mhz processor as compared to 220 Mhz of N70.. Also N70 has more RAM (not internal memory) than E50 (AFAIK).

As i said, the new symbian OS utilises the processing power of phones better. So E50 even with 208 Mhz outperforms N70 with its 220 Mhz.

^^^lol sure thts no time at all!...talkin abt "time" im really amazed and curious at the same time trying to imagine wht cellphones wud be like after tht much time...say even 2 years...wht the possibilities might extend to..who knows we might not even need any "service providers" to talk to each other...each cell wud be like a base station in itself projecting its own network miles along...lol...thts jus ONE of the thoughts...den again...m imaginin here...only time can tell wht happens.....who knows if the iphone takes over the world and overthrows human beings :D...hehe...
