Its not possible to install an older Operating System over a newer one
The normal procedure is to install Windows 2000 SP4 first,
then Windows XP SP2 and then Linux

u can install the oses inany order but it will be a heavy pain.
Install win2000 sp4, then win xp sp2 and then linux.
If u install win2000sp4 after installing win xp sp2, it will replace the loader for winXP and u will need to repair the loader (big pain).
same wud happen if u install windows after installing linux.

ok GUYS ..so the best way is what I thought...format C: drive and install Win 2000 Sp4 ....... and remove linux partitions by "Partition Magic"

no need to reinstall 2000 to remove linux. It seems that ur 2000 is working fine, just delete (convert) the linux partition. As u want to install win xp pro it will remove the grub loader as well.

hey just missed it! I can give u three methods. Try the 3rd one. Its quicker
1.
Ok wat u can do is, install win 2000 sp4 on d: This will remove win xp pro sp2 from ur boot loader.
Now insert the win xp pro sp2 cd and let it start copying the files. It would ask if you want to install xp or repair it. Just say install at this time.
Now it will start searching for previous versions and give u option to repair it. This time click repair. It will complete the whole installation procedure but ur installed programs will remain intact.
I haven't tried ^^^ this method.
2.
This link might help you http://www.oreillynet.com/pub/h/2337
The best trick, i can think is make an image for ur c: , install win2000 and then restore ur c: This shud remove win2000 from the boot menu. Use the above link to add it.
3. try this link. Most appropriate to ur situation http://www.petri.co.il/install_windows_2000_after_windows_xp.htm
My googling is improving. hehe
BTW cant u install that share broker s/w again?
