Hi. I have an LG Flatron E700S 17-inch CRT monitor which I have been using for 3-4 years. The problem is that recently my monitor's display has been strange and at time the screen is reduced to the centre with black strips at the side. It keeps adjusting wide and then narrow. I end up adjusting the cable at the rear of the monitor to make the display normal. Is the monitor reparable, I mean if its just some contact-wire problem? Or do I need to replace it?

Would a Samsung LCD monitor like the 740N be a good replacement for a budget of Rs. 10,000-11,000? If you can suggest a better option it would help.

I am using 700SFL from LG. I think u need a replacement. Viewsonic has a neat range of LCD monitors, look at them.

I too had problem of similar nature. I think your monitor is about to give. Better be prepared for replacement.

Viewsonic has good reputation and I am also using one from Viewsonic. It seems superior to any other brand. For your Budget, newely launched 17" wide would be better buy. It should be within 10000.
