MY dealer installed Norton 10 when i assembled a comp. It is using a lot of my CPU Power, and is it secure or should i go 4 avast or AVG, keeping it only as a file scanner

Norton consumes more resources. Install avast. It consumes only around 13MB of memory. I think avast! wont allow installation till you uninstall Norton. I suggest you to uninstall Norton completely and then install avast.

I suggest don't use norton instead use avast home + spybot-search & destroy.Norton has a bad habit of slowing down the whole system. Also if u are in to gaming norton is not a good option. If you are willing to pay for antivirus then use nod 32.But i suggest the above combo.:D

you can also use symantec corporate edition (norton corporate edition) , which consumes far far far less memory and comes in plain flavour..:)
