Hi, I have a fedora core 6, I installed beryl from fedora repositories, the problem is, the beryl-manager starts, but the window border disappears. Even if i choose compiz window manager it doesn't change.

Which graphics adaptor do you have? And did you make the required changes in /etc/X11/xorg.conf?

Thanx for replying. What changes do I have to make xorg.conf?
The lspci|grep VGA output is as shown:
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation 82845G/GL[Brookdale-G]/GE Chipset Integrated Graphics Device (rev 03)

PS: I don't have any nVidia card

OK just checked the beryl wiki it says no extra configuration is needed for Intel cards.
I am doubtful if 845 based cards work.
See if DRI is enabled
glxinfo | grep direct
Also, type
beryl in the terminal and see what error it gives.

Super is the logo of that 'Super OS' that comes on many keyboards these days.

Problem solved!! Now, this may be obvious but I didn't know :D
>opened a terminal, entered beryl.
>opened beryl-manager from applications menu
>Everything works fine!!

.......Previously I was just starting beryl-manager

ya, now you have to make sure that beryl starts every time you switch on the system, else it you have to do your invention every time :D

If you are using Gnome Go to Control Center>Sessions>Startup Programs (this is the 3rd Tab)

There you have to add:
berly-manager
berly

that's it...

KDE don't know can't say

For KDE you can either
1) Edit your KDE env file and add beryl as KDEWM,
2) Link beryl-manager in your ~/.kde/Autostart, or
3) Install KDE Autostart Manager and use that to start beryl-manager on startup
