Mouse tapping irritating.Pls help!!

I have a Compaq Presario M2000 laptop,which was formatted today,& everything is working fine.However,the mouse pad has automatically enabled the "tap"feature which is very irritating.I have tried to disable it from the Control panel but have found no option as the manual says.What do I do?Pls help.

btw look in "Printers and Other Hardware" -> Mouse.

my bro uses a External Mouse (travel mouse) (i got it for him for Rs.125/- =IBM= :D ), very irritating Mouse Pad:x, while typing, if i put my hand near the pad, the cursor moves to some place.:x
