good enough, it does only one thing na.....processing SMS, then why do we need a full fledged Windows Server or Mac server for it. A custom OS or Slim linux with Kernal, network, & their SMS management app should be there only

no thats not the thing. Ofcourse linux can handle it, what i meant was that Linux gives u so much customisation that u can only keep what u need & compleately remove what u don't
Wish Windows server 2003/longhorn server could give something like this, suppose a server is used for file sharing only, then why give Windows Media server in it.....or better yet, IIS server, atleast give an option to the user to keep what he wants & remove what he doesn't. This will reduce system resources too

^^^^ yup it is, where custom based deployments are required. Like I said, why pay for an OS when u don't need half featurs of it

It's a lot more than about buying cost. gx other costs are important as well. You should very well know that, as a commerce student.

i think linux is very good for use as server system then windows
