Citing Wikipedia in your school projects and papers is now a big no no at Middlebury College in Middlebury Vermont. The History department in the small liberal arts college has banned citing the popular online encyclopedia. Students who continue citing could face reduce grades or even failure from the class.

I am not surprised, considering the structure of Wikipedia. However a good workaround is to use the references listed at the end of each article. No one can stop you from doing that, can they?!

This banning is very logical because anybody can edit the Wikipedia.
So its not a very reliable source!

Citing wikipedia in papers is idiotic (and I'm a wiki fan!)

Use wikipedia to find out what you need, then cite britannica :P

I wouldn't even cite britannica. It's better to cite original sources, like research papers, etc.

cite what britannica cites :P
