first installl XP and then VISTA QUITE SIMPLE :D
:D :D
and then dont start anything for which the system files go wild and you have these problems , so just reinstall both.
First Xp and then VISTA buT keep in mind that Vista is not on that path like XP so many problems still exist in it, why dont you use XP only.
its ur wish so if you want to install both then XP then VISTA
I TOO HAD VISTA ULTIMATE x64 before but removed it and now i am happy with Xp only.

dude if i was interested in reinstalling both again then i wont have wasted 2hrs here rather i would have completed my job....i have that much of brain too....my main moto was just that they both boot simultaneuosly coz if in future if i again hv to reinstall XP then i dont hv to reinstall Vista too as u r sayin....well i will keep the search goin on n thnx fr ur help!!!
As far as using Vista is concerned then its far better than XP...its luks , sound quality, picture quality ...all are far better n one can only get satisfied with XP if he dont have enough resources to support Vista....otherwise Vista Roxxx!!!!

its ok but i am not saying that vista is bad !! its very GOOD and it rocks !!
thats truth but DONT TALK OF RESOURCES !!!
and if you want your problem to be sorted out and you dont want to reinstall then, copy both the files again and then boot with vista cd and just go to repair section and then reinstall boot loader. IF IT WORKS
__________
and PLEASE DUDE DOnt Be So Rude :D
try out some universal boot loaders.
google "universal bootloader"

The problem is with the Vista Boot manager. either it has pointed the option to a non OS drive or the startup line for that OS is BAD
Please post the output of 'bcdedit' on command prompt
