CD/DVD Not getting read

I recently reinstalled Windows XP on my pc.But when i insert some cd's & Dvd's in the explorer it shows cd/Dvd has been inserted.But when i Double click the icon it shows that "The disk migh be corrupted or using a unknown format".I checked this disk on my friend's pc & it was working fine.This problem not used to happen before reinstall.

If the prob is with many CDs/DVDs then check ur CD-ROM on ur friends PC woth same CDs/DVDs.

Hope u hav installed all d drivers properly... As dis prb is occuring aftr installation, u must not hav installd XP properly. U can try reinstallation of d drivers for ur drive. If dat doesnt wrk, try reinstalling XP. Meanwhile if its poss., try wht casey says...
