Guys one of my frnds has a Compaq Sr1931IL
It has a ATI chipset moboand Samsung SATA 160GB hdd.
i've tried to install FC5 & FC6 but it didnt install,pc hangs after 'Installing sata.sli' screen.
So which distro of Linux sud i install on dat PC.

use ubuntu live cd for checking hardware compatibility and then install the same

Try installing with acpi=off option.
It looks like your SATA connector is not supported. What motherboard does this PC have and what type of SATA port?
