My friend needs a system. He has a 25k-30k budget. Dual Core Proccy, preferably a Genuine Intel Desktop Board, and the mobo should have the possibilty of adding an external graphics card later on. Most of the config is done only the CPU & Mobo remains. Intended uses, Gaming, 3D, A/V editing. So basically it should be a decently powerful system with a good performance without costing a bomb.

Pal things r not cleared...u juz want proccy & Mobo for 30k or the whole system?
If juz Proccy & Mobo:-
1-)C2D E6400-11.5k
2-)Intel 965RY (Onboard grapix+PCIE Slot)-6.5k
3-)512*2 DDR2 667MHz RAM-6k

I meant that the 30k is for the whole system. But I wanted only the CPU & Mobo. So maybe that gets only 15k from the whole budget. And a Genuine Intel Desktop Board is only a preference not a compulsion. If a better board in same money is there its great.

Hmm..
I hv similar requirements as asked by Rohit..
So, i didnt strt a new thread. :D

i currently have a i845GL mobo wid onboard grafix, Intel P4 1.7GHz, 256MB DDR@133MHz, 40GB + 20GB HDD.
I will b upgrading in less than a month or so i think..

total budget: approx 30-32K

i hv thought out the following config:
RAM: DDR2 512MBx2 @.....MHz (u tell me d MHz
HDD: >=250GB SATA2 (Seagate/Hitachi/Maxtor/Western Digital
DVD Writer: dual layer DVD writer (have thot of 4-5 models to choose from)
Speakers: Creative 2.1
Cabinet + SMPS. (u tell me wot shud b power rating f SMPS .. (hw many W

Nw i need u ppl to suggest me d Processor (want Intel Core2Duo) and Mobo. d budget left out fr them is i think 15k or so.
it can be Processor+mobo wid onboard grafix OR processor+mobo w/o onboard grafix+grafix card..

However i am faced with two main concerns::
i hv read in d forum tht maybe C2D prices will b dropping in arnd january.. so shud i wait for prices to drop or go ahead?
and as DX10 will be coming out in some time, i wud rather not invest in a grafix card, which wud become obsolete in some time...

so plz help me ppl

GO FOR AN ASUS MOBO and C2d as asus gives good features and warranty with c2d or a simple Pentium D 3.0 .. would be well in ur budget

currently C2D processor is very expensive due to less supply and great demand my suggestion is wait till march i am sure its price will fall further.
