cannot play wmv files

Pls help me about 2 issues with wmv files I downloaded from net

media players (windows media, real, power DVD, nero media) says (Windows) Media Player cannot play the file. The Player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file.
Few files that I downloaded from net are DMR protected. Is there any way to play them.My system is PIII 666, 512 MB Ram, 40 GB HDD, some graphic card.

first of all i would like to recommend you vlc player 0.8.5 (the latest i think) .. its the best player in the world (imho)
about the DRM stuffz .. they either need proprietary media players or licenses just to play em

Otherwise u can use dMC Auxiliary Input nd again record ur DMR protected file to an unprotected format.
