hello
i am having system mechanic 6. i heard it was a great utility. but it has slowed down my computer considerably. it takes a very long time for copying and pasting files. but my friend says he has no such problems. he has the same config as i have:
p4 3 ghz
1 gb ram
160gb hd
wat could be the problem?

i think some of its components appear in the startup. remove them.

System Mechanic is not heavy, you must have installed heavy softwares. You should remove unwanted program from starup.

Do this to remove unwanted programmes:
Run 'msconfig' in run command and uncheck unwanted program from startup......

Also never install NAV,it will kill your pc :D

system mechanic in itself should not be slowing up your pc. Agreed that it messes up sometimes, but it never does so in a subtle way. Your pc has some other worries. Try to sort it out.

System Mechanic is a good software. It never slows down your PC.
Try running 'PC Total care' in System Mechanic Power tools. If problem remains, then as anand said, there is some other thing like Virus slowing down your PC. Scan entire system with good antivirus software.

Regarding Start-up's programs, System mechanic has got good 'Start-up Optimizer'. It disables unwanted programs.

yes, i do think system mechanic slows down pc

i will advice u to use system mechanic mobile tool kit .

It is like portable . u don't have to install it and it will run as good as installed one .

I dont have an anti-virus for that matter, nor a spyware checker. My PC is 512 MB ram and boots up from BIOS to OS in 7 seconds flat. I have tried and written up 3 reviews for System Mechanic 5, and 6. I know how heavy it is, cause I didnt know Tune Up existed back then.
