now Spy Sweeper with Antivirus !

the ball just turned. we used to have av inclu anti-spy defns.

but now webroot has in its spysweeper 5.2, decided to include av defns.
it uses the SOPHOS av engine.
but its only an on-demand scanner !:rolleyes:

I am happy with Spybot S&D but only thing is it doesnt have an ontime protection! like spysweeper:(

If I remember correctly, Spybot S & D has realtime protection through Teatimer and SDHelper (go to Advanced Menu and look at Tools->Resident)... I havent used it so I am not sure if this is what you want...

You mean Spybot. Anyway, spybot is quite crap nowadays. Dont even compare spybot to this one. Its far superior.

And if you have seen the shooutouts carried out in last year or so, you would know that spybot peformed quite poorly in all of them. In most cases Webroot came on top (other notable one is spydoctor from pctools).
Whatever May be the tests carried and results shown A free product has its Importance till Now which is the best deal;)

adaware, avg (earlier ewido) are the good freeware anti-spys 2de imo
among paid ones spywaredoctor and spysweeper r good.
a-squared is a great freeware anti-trojan/malware

ya spybot detection rate has dropped, true :-( maybe its author is not motivated enuf these days...
