connecting mtnl triband usb to linux

I just got the allways on connection

I have ubuntu 6.06
and I want to connect the ADSL router through USB to connect to net.

I am not using the ethernet option due to some reason.

please help.

Tell us the modem's brand and model. Also run "sudo lsusb" in a terminal window and give us the output.
