i need notepad help

i have a windows 98 OS in my system. bt the notepad is missing. actually i was installing the norton antivirus in my pc and after preinstall scan an error came "cant locate notepad.exe . notepad needed to read txt file"
i searchd my pc bt there aint notepad. may be it gt deleted accidentally.
i also installed other software similar to notepad like "notepadnextgen" bt it doesnt works.
can any one help me to get the original windows 98 notepad or any other way to get rid of the error?

Run SFC (System File Checker) & that will find ur missing files
or else
Extract & Copy & Paste this attachment in ur "C:\Windows"
Folder

Go to C:\windows\system32 and find "notepad.exe.bak" and
change the name to notepad.exe :)

OR
if that doesnt work
download (for win98 only) from here (nearly bottom of page)

and place into the C:\windows\system32 folder.
if the file is already there just overwrite it when prompted..
