After seeing countless threads about "will my system run Vista" iam posting this sticky thread with the Vista system Requirements ,hence forth any threads regarding will my pc run vista will be locked.
According to microsoft there would be two categories under which a certain Pc would be categorised,the categories are ‘Vista Capable’ and ‘Vista Premium Ready’.
A pc to be categorised under the Vista Capable category should have a 800MHz processor, 512MB of system memory, a DirectX 9 capable graphics card, a 40GB hard drive with at least 15GB of free space, a DVD drive, and audio and internet capabilities.
A Pc to be categorised under the Vista Premium Ready category should have a 1GHz 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) processor, 1GB of Ram and a graphics card with 128MB of onboard memory capable of supporting Windows Aero2.
However it is recommended you download the "Windows Vista Upgrade Advisor" utility microsoft provides which would scan your pc and would duly provide you information whether your pc can run vista or not.
