Dear friends,
i've INTEX TV TUNER CARD (internel). i've only one TV and cable connection in my dining hall. Now i've bought this TV card for my pc. When i inserted cable connection to my tv card it works fine, after this i bought low cost parallel wire that uses in tv antenna on roof. Its not co-axial cable. when i jointed parallel wire to juction of cable TV cable, then its worked fine with my main TV. But not working good with PC TV, its reception is too bad........ Before this i've used this parallel wire with my old B/W tv and it worked fine...........

Is it necessary to buy Co-axial cable(black color thick wire) for my TV TUNER?? why cant i use parallel wire?? what is the difference between these two wires for tv recption??

reply soon.....

Yes u have to buy coaxial cable.
As coxial cable has shielding to carry high frequency signal.
parallel= ribbon wire r used to carry low and single frequncy signal and more pron to interference since it is physically take a shape of a antennae(parallel wire)

get the cable changed the normal ribbon cable has high resistance

ya, coaxial cable act as shield so that signal does not spit away from the wire, more over coaxial cable has resistance of 75 ohms, which matches the resistance of antenna as well as of tuner card.so there is perfect match.Parallel wire has high resistance and to match that resistance to that of TV or a TV tuner card a small black box called "balun" is used, you must have seen where cable tv is not present, small box containg a coil is put in to TV antenna input socket, and parallel wire is screwed to the box.If you want good reception from parallel feed wire try using the "Balun". which you can get from any TV shop for abt 10 rupees or so.
