Ok i have a question, I have 2 HDDs 1 is a 40gb hdd with 3 partitions and 1 is a 80 gb drive with 3 partitions. now i have 2 windows XP pro installed on 2 partitions of the 40 gb HDD. now i wanted to know that if i buy a new hard disk(to replace the 40 gb drive) then is it possible for me to keep the windows registry, files, program installs etc.

i mean generally if u buy a new hdd and remove the one which has windows, u have to reinstall windows and all other programs, and i dont wanna do that. so is there any way to do this?

u can use norton ghost for that....

Ya, wizrulz is right but if U have an 64 bit processor then old versions of norton ghost will not work so d/l the latest version of Ghost.
Visit the norton ghost home page www.symantec.com for more information.

thx for the replies.

now i dont have a 64 bit processor, i have a celeron 2.4 ghz processor with mercury 845 mobo

now suppose if i use ghost to make the image of the drive, then still wont the windows registry have the problem when i move it to a new HDD becos my partition sizes will be different.

and can u pls give me a brief idea abt how i can go about doing it(without the help of a hardware engg).
