Hey guys,

Till yesterday, I had a perfect PC working with Win XP Prof. installed on one partition and openSUSE Linux on another. My windows was completely up-to-date. Then yesterday my nephews gave me visit and played games all day on my comp. They had even shutdown the computer properly before leaving. But now I am unable to start windows. every time I start windows the comp reboots during loadinf of windows itself. I m not able start windows in Safe mode too. even the option of "start with last good known configuration" fails to start windows. It just restarts the computer. I don't think its hardware related since i m able to work on Linux comfortably on the same machine. No new software or hardware was added. What's gone wrong?

boot through the windows partition......
press 'r' to enter the recovery console....
logon to ur windows installation(default 1)
type chkdsk /r
wait a lot of time to let the chkdsk finish...
restart....
if it doesn't work, reconnect the hdd
