The June Special Edition is going to cost Rs.200/- or more. It is also a Special 5th Anniversary Issue. Therefore instead of 20 points, I think we should get extra points

I have a few suggestions:
1. Please display the number of points a subscriber has BEFORE he/she enters the code. This way we can find out if there is a problem in the database system or are the points really being added.
2. Please make some arrangement that the subscribers can book future issues using the points.

I think that the people maintaining Digit Patron are real pachyderms. No matter what people say they are not going to give it an ear. The Digit Patron program was started as a marketing stunt by Jasubhai. This was a period when Chip was just launched and Jasubhai people were facing stiff competetion. So in order to gain loyality they started this **** called Digit Patron. I have nearly 250 points and I didn't find a single gift worth redeeming. I suggest (though I know it will not be listened as always) to stop this bull**** right now. My last hope of Digit Patron's upgradation is vanished with June 06 anniversary. If they r not upgrading the gifts now they'll never do that. STOP FOOLING PEOPLE. You are already overpriced @Rs125/- with 150/- and 200/- tags in b/w for special editions.

Dear rohit & sandip - I totally agree with both of you.
Current patron scheme is not good at all, and items available for loyal readers need to be changed. Some hardware items should be there in place of unwanted back issues of various mags, or latest encyclopedia - game cds etc
My digit subscription ends this month. I received reminder to renew, but now I'm not going to renew my subscription any more because of such type of cheating.

Just one question to Digit Patrol Helpdesk.
Why are subscribers not getting automatic credit for patron? I feel that is something so obvious. Secondly, that will also stop one menace. There are a few newsstand owners who subscribe and then sell the copies in open market. No one bothers to read the words "subscriber copy, not for sale". If such copies do not have patron codes, no one will buy them!!
Any answers?
This will stop people from buying subscriber copies. If the member is registered, just add their points automatically. The code will still be there in the copies for the newsstand. Please do this. Good request by tuxfan.
A desperate change is req. in the digit patron gifts secton. No one wants old issues of digit and Skoar. Better offer original software with the consent of the distributors. Even hardware stuff will do great.

The thread has been started in dec 2004 ...nos of replies to 14 pages suggestions/request ...we can say nearly nil....so what r all expecting form such thread.....even 1 suggestion being implemented.......????

It was told to me by one of mods when i tried to highlight some poinst wrt digit patron that mods cannot do anything ..digit admin should look after it...so how many time digit admin have gone thru this thread and replied to queries and suggestions????

with all the earlier digit issues available as the pdf's. i feel there is no use in redeeming my points for that. Moreover they dont have any DVD (just 2 plain CDs each).
And yes... once the digit guys gave me a faulty cd/dvd (april 2005). I asked for replacement at least 5 times. The reply "we have dispatched it" but it never arrived. (I wrote 2 times after this.. 3 times earlier).
hell I wasted my 100 Rs for a scrap paper (duh)

First Of All-
Remove all the current 20 gifts from the list.These Are not of any use.
Beside them provide hardware gifts,skoar issues etc.

We're working on better patron gifts. Things take time. Remember that this is a bonus that NO OTHER MAGAZINE will give you. You buy other mags you just get the mag. you subscribe to other mags, you get a chance to win something as crappy as a graphics card or a computer table. At digit we've given people the chance to win Cars, bikes and other cool things. We're not perfect, and our patron gifts are not the talk of the town or anything, but they ARE FREE!
We'll make them better as time goes by, and we're sure you'll like the gifts then.
For those of you who are not entering their codes because they dont like the current set of gifts... what will you do when we change the gifts and you find yourself short by 200 points -- which you have already earned, had you only entered your code regularly?

Atleast u can do is keep us posted the progress or ur thought process on which ur working so that if we find anything wrong (acc to our view) then we can suggest..isnt it?

i have redeemed this book on photoshop.. twice over with something like 100 points ... but stiil it didnt reach me .. how sad !!!:mad:
the first time i did it in the 1st week of december last year:shock:
and then some time back in june this year ... and guys have stiil kept me waitin !!!:mad:

No Digit Patron is NOT for subscribers only, and NOT for newstand buyers only. It's called patron because we want to reward regular readers of the magazine, doesn't matter whether you subscribe an get it for cheaper or pay more every month and buy it from a newsstand... It's quite simply our humble way of thanking our "Patrons". We will try and improve upon gifts soon, perhaps we need sponsors to help make the gifts better, and it is all being worked upon.

Now i can understand digit poeple r so busy improving digit quality that they do nothave time to respond to there own customer queries and also to look after there PATRON site.
I reported abt the link not working on 18th june adn today is 3rd August....(total abt 15days...oh somany days and no repair :( )

Yeah that's a great choice giving out collectable CDs and DVDs which everyone would want to collect rather than old issues which we subscribers already have
It will be great if u give additional product info with the CDs and DVDs
This way it is easier to choose .

It is working now..and be4 i posted the complaint...SIX TIMES AND NOT TWO TIMES(as u haev written 'both') ..i have made sure that i check out if the link was working.....so being down cannot be the case.....but ya atleast its rectified.....

don't your think the free gifts which are provided by DIGIT PATRON is either useless or out dated????i had exchanged my code with "UNISTALL ANTIVIRUS"...it is just useless guys...i am not able to update it...don't u think some cool stuff like t-shirts,caps,subscription of digit or some new edition of digit should be available as free gifts??who is agonna purchase cd of Iceage??i've already posted my suggestion to them...hope for the best.

gud to see some new gifts are added in the patron section
but there is also a need for regular delivery of the gifts to the customers
as i said before i requested a magazine on May 15 and i didnt received it till now!
so u should care abt such things in future that a customer should get the gift in time!

If your computer had an issue, you can try a system restore to restore your system to a previous date but with digit patron, even that is not possible...in short, you cant enter the previous months patron code

Even though, if you had not renewed your subscription your Patron id will always remain active because this program is not restricted to our subscriber's only but, it is for our new stand reader also.

I have been reading digit since January 2005 and I have never missed an issue. When I saw the digit patron column I got really excited. Month after month I tried but to no use. I could never register. I mailed you people so amny times but to no good. Now I feel really frustrated cause I could have converted so many points for digit gifts. BUt I dont think it is possible to register old issues. Please help me now. I really wanna know how can I register.

due to mailing problem and courier delay i was unable to recieve my ist subscribed copy of DIGIT sep 2006 in time ,and i brought it from the newsstall, i redemed the points and the very next day i get my subscribed copy by post on the 20th of sep ,so now i have 2 genuine copies and 2 patron codes but i cannot redeem both ,waste of RS 125 .can anyone help me here?

I have applied for redemption of points and received my Kasparov Chessmate :)) within 2 months! But its an old version i.e. made in 2004. :rolleyes:
Anyway, since its chess it shouldn't matter much ;)

NOV,06 CODE IS NOT WORKING FOR ME TOO.
this is happening 1st time for me in last 2 yrs., i guess if it is a mistake of Digit team, they should give us subscribers, automatic credit of 20 points
also, digit team should add more gifts in the list , i have 300+ points accumulated, but not redeemed coz don't want the digit old issues which i have already. even ice age cd too. instead team Digit could give option of subscription of future issues. i already have renewed my subscription till Jan,08. so option of further issues after Jan,08 will be a good for me. TEAM DIGIT , THINK ABOUT US TOO, i.e. loyal subscribers

Can u list out the gifts based on points ...like the gifts which require huge points at the last & the least ones at the first.....this way we can be more choosy ...rather than salvaging the entire list running to across 4-5 pages...Oh add some nice screenshots wid details...most of us had trouble of identifying which version of LOR DVD u gave away

Now i have switched to my Yahoo id, and will discontinue using the hotmail id. Is it possible to transfer my digit patron points to the other id? I can prove that both are my accounts only.

I ordered an 'The Lord of the Rings' DVD which i got on 5th Nov.But it was scratched n in damaged cond. n i'm unable to play it :sad: So i send two emails to HELP dept. but they haven't reply.Again i send another m@il to HELP section in 'DigitPatron' but they also did not contact me yet :evil: Now you guys tell me wht to do n how to gt another DVD movie in good cond. :?:

Actually my problem is that, i have given an order to the digit patron for a gift of book named "photoshop 6" of about 100 points frm my email-id ta_topper@yahoo.co.in, about 7 to 8 months & each time when i remind help desk, they send me a message that they are sending my book very soon to me but nothing happened upto now.
Can u people please tell correctly upto which time u will send my book to me or are u are going to return my 100 points back ???

Hello,
In case you change your existing email id which is also your username to your Digit Patron account, you would lose all access to the account, including all the points you have garnered till date.
If you would still like to go ahead and change your email id, what you will then need to do is register afresh the new email id with the Digit Patron Program, just like you did with the previous email id. Well, basically start from scratch with a points tally of zero.

I have not yet rxd my Digit of Nov'06. I had sent many mails to u via ur website thinkdigit.com & also called up ur office. However I am given a reply that my copy is out for delivery from 6 Nov'06 & will be delivered in due course.
This is most amazing answer I have heard from a company who has taken adv payment & is commmited to timely delivery month on month.
I used to get my copy by 3rd of every month but this month is REALLY BAD.

I have been saving up points for last 2 years, but now, with this sudden withdrawal of service, have to select few of the old gifts, most of them are not really attractive!

You first e-mail ur subscribers telling them that their issues will be late (after 10th december, with newsstand issues arrived much earlier ) and conveniently FORGET to mention about closing plans for digit patron. And then, when i receive my issue on 16th and i open the last page, i find its all over. If i lost 360 points, it only proves digit's sick attitude towards its subscribers and nothing else. Period.

To introduce myself, I am a continuous reader of the Digit magazine since 1998 under various Brand Names. Moreover I have more than 400 Digit Patron codes.
Frankly speaking, Digit Patron scheme was not at all required. But when it came to exist it was next to being useless. I never saw anything nice there as giveaways. My patron codes of about 4/5 issues were not registered due to sundry reasons.
But we were still content with that. We were content that OUR Digit is still giving something no other magazine is giving.
But this time my Respect and Self Diginity is at stake. I feel cheated and disrespected. How can Digit, which I respected so much, discontinue Digit Patron so unprofessionally, like a unbranded Company involved in some scam, disappearing overnight with my hard earned money(here my Patron codes+respect). There is no technical difficulties as far as I know to preserve the present patron points for redeeming later.
You call us patrons and behave with us like that.
I never felt is necessary to enter the Digit Forum, as I am busy elsewhere to post anything here. But today I registered at Digit Forum just to post these words of mine.
And time only until 15th December? Can something be more ridiculous than that. I bought this copy of Digit on 19th, because it reached here in my city late, atleast not until 10th. They should have atleast allowed the whole December and few more grace days.
So, I think this is my right as a loyal Digit reader to demand that Digit revoke their decision to discontinue Digit Patron or do that so that it does not look this un-professional.

3. If Digit can manage to maintain a database of such a large number of forum users with all their Private messages and other information, Why is it impossible to maintain a record of previous points in the patron program? I see
a commercial interest lurking here than a technical problem.
Some may feel i am acting like beggar. But to me what matters more is transparency of such programs and involvement of consumers in decision process. And i am not fighting for myself, i am fighting for every consumer who is unaware of what he deserves...

This is really poor on Digit's part. Not giving enough time to redeem the points. I've lost my 250+ points due to such poor decisions. I would just like to say that Digit members should not take us for granted. I'm not dying to have a terminator-2 cd, but i feel cheated today and seem like a fool, who was waiting for a nice gift in future.
All of us have other things to do in life and its not that we read the magazines the day it comes (10th dec) for a subscriber. I opened the pack yesterday to key-in the points and all I cud find was sheer disappointment and pity for Digit team for taking such a poor decision.
Damn with you and your digit patron scheme. I still cant believe you could behave like that with your reader. Bull-****.

i agreed that it is not fair to most of us, they had abrutly stop /discontinue the same all of sudden... atleast from that point of view that i was little relieved to see on site that they had extended from 16th dec which it will relapse as per noted on magazine, to 22nd dec where i had encashed...
even my december 2006 (special issue) dvd media is not reabable in most of systems... in my research, i concluded that they had taken it recorded with XP system where it stored some hidden file named thumbs.db which give some setting for preview the images stored in media. even i request the customer care for replacement, they ask me to send the same to get it replaced!!!, it seem they had gone from bad to worst.

I agree with both of d above quotes. I had two hectic months of exams. Just today I got d opportunity to leaf through January issue of Digit. Someting in forum section reminded me of digit patron and I connected to internet and tried to login and was surprised with the message that they are revamping. Why did not digit send an email to its so called patrons about it, after all they took our email ID as the username (I don't know about others, atleast mine is my email ID).
This is just underhanded stuff to deal out its patrons.
My 200+ points have gone down the drain. Why can't they have atleast retained the points? From what I have read through the read many people have lost there points like me. :mad:
Is there anyone from Digit listening?

Well, like many, there are no signs of any gifts here as of now. So others who have missed out need not worry.
let's just be optimistic, and wait for February 14th to see what Digit has in store for us
Regarding the DIGIT DVD of December as many have posted, there was some issue with the .NET framework, cause initially i was unable to use it. But after an automatic update with Windows, the DVD worked fine.
Just run the latest Autopatcher release and see whether it works for u

14 Feb has passed long back and no updates on DIGIT Patron. Seems DIGIT people have forgot Valentine day :)
Jokes apart, DIGIT has really lost credibility. They seem to never follow deadlines, make false promises and seems to be more like a fraud company.

Did u notice? you said it was 14 Feb 2007. (or was it mistaken for 2008 or something????) till now, you havent raised the curtains nor displayed a further date. Now, we already lost 40 points for Jan and Feb issues. Are you going to add them for the next month? Would you give those 40 points to us?

Finally, I received my redeemed gifts today. The dual layers DVD 9 discs of Munnabhai and LOTR. But I would have expected an anamorphic 16:9 pic on the LOTR DVD, instead I got 4:3 pic !!! and indian language subtitles!!!!
