How to set up broadband connection in ubuntu?Help.....PLEASE

Hi,
I am a linux newbie and I have a Huawei Quidway WA1003A modem connected to my PC through a USB port. I want to connect to the net, how do I proceed.I want to setup my broadband connection in ubuntu 6.06.what do i need to download?what s/w do i need to do it.please explain in detail every step.

u have the same modem i have till now i hav'nt seen anyone it using usb as lan in linux.i don't say it can't be done but u should go for try get a lan card.it will come 150-300rs depending upon the make.

USB support is terrible, get a lan card and it'll prolly get auto configured.
