Oracle 10g plz help

HI,
I installed oracle 10g. It worked fine but when I restarted it said "Oracle not available". Same thing happened on all my friends PC.

Plz help. I'm a noob in oracle.

Did u start the database server?.....Enable the services corresponding to oracle in "services.msc"! Reinstall if problem still persists!

can u be bit more elaborative.
i.e
what kinda installation you have done,
at first u connect through which user,
what was the way you restart the server/pc
