if u r beginner then u shud learn VS.NET instead of VS 6. there r numorous sites that provide beginner level .net tutorials.

Go step by step yaar!
First go for c++ then vs.new. Proabaly vb.net is very much easy to be started with.
For c++,

and search on google for:-
A to Z c++. This is online c++ book with a different and interesting approach. Can be easily download.
