Yes, activation is required, but normally you dont need to get it from the Microsoft website. When you start Office 2007 for the first time, it automatically comes up with a screen asking you to activate the program.

It's not really in the league of Max and Maya, but quite close.

Got the issue. Really nice issue- Sweet is the word. I think sweet has more to do with the fact that it contains a review of sorts of the conroe/x360. The paper quality is the best ever and please stick to it. havent got much time to check out other things in the mag and DVD. Looking forward to the office 2007 beta 2 installation once the activation would get activated tomorrow. Nice issue never the less.

Well I don't see the cd/dvd conteents as a repeat. Its good enuf and I guess its pretty new and useful for me. Many here are cribbing about it but I don't think its a let down AT ALL.

Digit cannot give Suse,FC5 , Mandriva or Debian.
Reason being they size 3.5 GB. If given no sufficient space left for Windows stuff.
Only solution give 2 DVDs/1 Dual Layer DVD.
Other competitor magazine has given 2 full Linux Distros this month

Well this issue brings tears to my dry eyes.(due to happiness : don't worry).

The issue is... is...... is........ Well , Its just what it should have been for quite sometime now. Well digit seems to have come back with a bang. A BIG bANG too!!!

Click on OK, instead of Cancel

Also, the Activation key that we get is the Serial Number for Office 2007. You need to activate the product after you successfully install the product

Has anyone tried the Gentoo Live CD given in this months DVD???
I tried burning the image , but my Moser baer CD got wasted as nero showed data verification failed. I tried again on another Moser baer CD , this times CD burnt sucessfully and also verified but when i used it to boot , while booting , message displayed could not load drivers and it halts .
Damn , I m really annoyed.
Has anyone out there used this gentoo sucessfully??

My config is :
Intel P4 ,
G845GVSR MOBO,
512MB Ram,
Win XP SP2

PS: I am saying that I used Moser baer CD just to say that the CD was not of poor quality.

Same problem with me. I hve not received digit yet. It takes only a day for the digit to reach sangli. All newspaper stands have digit from 2nd of any month.

My father has a subscription of the Readers Digest and it used to come on the 26/27 of the previous month (3-4 days erlier). Now even they send it on 3rd or 4th. ( Have started doing what digit is doing), but still they are faster.

Wake up digit.

The Fast Track to Registry was very good, more than what I had expected.
By the way, I liked this month's CD/DVD interface music :). I think Digit should give a collection of these music compilations in mp3 format on the DVD.

The Installation failed while the Instalattion file is extracted. May be due to corrupt file. please help me.

Your Fast Track to registry was cool. But I have a problem. I tried to create a System folder by adding a CLSID to the Registry. I followed all the steps as given, but that folder does not appear in My Computer nor on the Desktop. I specified a target directory. I also created that dir. But the folder does not appear! Please help.

Magazine is for the latest information, some valuable information gathered from their sources with some gud presentation and two-three sections for in-depth technology.

Now, tell me what's special in August 2006.

DO we need old hollywood flicks..????. it would be better if there's a video of "how to manage network" or "basics of coding"

Only Memoy DDR & DDR2 section was gud in the whole magazine.

i) Um...magazine!= contests in it duh. And like I said somewhere else, the utility of a magazine is in its unique perspective and presentation.

well, I don't know about the process of the competition, but at least theoretically, it is possible to judge it fairly. For example, they could base it on the presentation, ensuring that it is not copied from the well-known net sources (like the link you gave, which even a ****er like me has seen before ;))

I am still to receive August issue of Digit. Last month received on 30th. We want Dual Layer or 2 DVDs because one DVD cannot satisfy both Linux and Windows users. Everything is available on net but practically unable to download very big softwares. And why download when I can get 8.5 GB data free with magazines.

unfortunately the digit cd and the dvd did not autorun, just the april2005 thing ran across my mind, i was shocked as the april 2005 cd/dvd is still unchanged, and i still have the couroupted ones, i thought this one again is going to happen the same. but i was very happy to find that it's working, just the autorun problem but from inside all files are proper and every thing is good.

When I tried the Digit software archive(beta),it prompted me to install .Net Framework 1.1,whereas 2.0 version was already installed on my PC.It was denied to load without 1.1,So I installed 1.1.After that it worked fine.But MS-Word and MS-Access got corrupted,and couldn't be opened,until I restored my system.But still the above two applications couldnot be run from the desktop shortcut,I have to open them from Start-All Programme..
Please explain.

Instead of Professional Couriers, these guys can use the regular post office, which will be much faster.

Someone sent me a parcel through Professional Couriers 6 days back and it has still not reached me. Its worth Rs.3000/- and I have already made the payment. I am worried about the same.

Digit...please dont use Professional Courier....they are not at all good
