my new 80GB Seagate SATA isnt detected in the bios,what do i do?
i have a 40 GB WD EIDE already,
and have 2 SATA connecters on my mobo,which is, ASUS A7V8X-LA(Kelut).
....North Bridge: VIA VT8378A UniChrome KM400A
....South Bridge: VIA VT8237
BIOS: Phoenix - Award BIOS v6.00PG
The HDD has started spinning but isnt detected in the BIOS.

try discon the ide drive..and then try booting..

I did that,but still my sata hdd wasnt detected.
Can someone help me here?

Go to the BIOS and enable the SATA-IDE controller......also check the jumpers...Install the drivers.....of the SATA controller after enabling it from the BIOS.....

sat-ide controller drivers are installed
there r no jumpers for sata
I dont know why my HDD isnt detected.
check my device manager-

Check in your BIOS if you have options like these for enabling/disabling SATA HDDs.... if option is there then make sure the port to which the HDD is attached is enabled.

there are no such options in the BIOS like enabling/disabling SATA.
Can anyone still help?
