i've motorola sb5100 usb cable modem..

but it gets disconnected after sometimes.. its connected to my pc at usb port.. so when connected, theres that icon "safely remove hardware" appears in taskbar.. but after sometimes it gets disconnected & that icon disappears and also the local area connection in the network connections gets disabled..

i've winxp sp2 & zone alarm security suit.. i've reinstalled my os & hence all hardware/drivers & softwares abt a month back.. im suing this connection & modem for abt 1 yr.. & im facing this problem for the first time.. i never turned-off modem by mistake.. it gets disconnected.. sometimes error cums that "usb device not recognized".. and when i restart my pc, it again gets cnnected..

**what can be the problem??
**what shall i do to solve it??
**is it because of my ISP (iqara)??
**usb modem is better or lan is better??

plz help ppl..

Try to update the USB drivers.
Always use Ethernet port than USB. It does not require drivers.

Also contact ur ISP abt this problem.
