buying pentium D now is foolish .. when conroe is going to be available soon .. also prices of pentium D is going to fall big time .. as well as prices of amd athlon series ..

what is your requirement?

also, msi makes some very good mobos and gigabyte has not been in the top spots for quite some time, who told you that gigabyte makes its mobos?

i suggest to go for AMD 64 FX 60 OC'ed its best and better than conroe......

FX60, Asus A8N-32SLI Deluxe 2 gigs of OCZ Tech mem, 2 BFG 7900GTX OC 512mb in SLI, 3 Seagate Barracudas in RAID 5 Artic Freezer 64

1) At stock, Conroe is better.
2) If you overclock both them Conroe is still better.

3) Rather get 4GB ram.

4) Rather get 1900XTX ( OC ) Crossfire

5) Do you even know his budget? Somebody going for Pentium D with 512mb ram can surely not be spending that kind of money?

What is your requirement and budget?
