View Full Version : firefox.exe-corrupt file

When I start the computer the following warning appears:

The file or directory/Document and settings/Administrator/Application data/Mozilla.Firefox/profiles/default462/cokies.txt.moztmp is corrupt and readable.Pl run the chkdsk utility

What shoul I do to prevent it from appearingin future?

Nothing ! Just Do what it says ...run check Disk....
The files in your firefox browser are currupted due to wrond Shutdown , hard boot or Power failure...just scandisk and it will be solved...

all these corrupt files n xp n 2k occus due to improper shutdown, hard disk errors and power failures
just allot chkdsk to run on startup n voila ur prob is solved

Just copy paste the following code in your Start -> Run

cmd /C echo y | chkdsk C: /f /v /x

And press enter. The cmd window should open and close by itself. Now you need to restart your computer. CHKDSK will run and fix the problem.

If it doesn't fix the problem, then you might have to reinstall Firefox; but first delete the Mozilla folder present in: %homepath%\Application Data\ (Type this address in Run or Address bar)
