hi
i am a student in my b.tech first .year
i just need to call(5 mins a day) and receive numerous
send/read sms
nothing else
i don't have a handset
i see 2 options-
1 buy from reliance/tata/etc a handset cum connection
2 buy cheapest handset at lamington and take a suitable connection
what do u say?

cheapest you said-> Motorola C115(monochrome) and Motorola C155(coloured) , both under 2k.

u ca go for MOTOROLA, one with color display and FM costs 2999 and there is another SAGEM costing 1300 b/w or Nokia 1100 costing 2100 or if u can afford and want to use gprs in ur cell just to check yahoo mails, go for 3210.

atleast go for qd its very famous in all campus it will make u very famous

best feature of qd is not gaming but its ajeeeeb looks thats what makes it interesting

Go for the cheapest RIM handset available. If it's ok with you, scout around for a used handset that can go to as low as 300/-.

Get a new RIM connection for 220/-. Use monthly recharges of 79/- for only incoming calls. Top it up with micro-recharges that start at 10/- according to your need. That will take care of your 5min/day call routine.

For sending SMS, use the 1Paise/SMS voucher for RIM. It comes in two flavors, i.e. 90/- for 45 days validity and 9000 Local SMS and 180/- for 90 days validity and 18,000 Local SMS.

u can buy nokia 2300 around 2250(b/w and has a loudspeaker wid fm radio)

or as my frends said motorola

even u can hop for nokia 1100(cheapest in the race)

ahh 2100
ummmm 3100(maybe a 2nd hand)
aha 2600 color a basic color i think its also around 2500

and u can hop for a prepaid plan in dolphin that will be cheapest

go 4 the n1100 or motorola c115.
