Hey ppl another genuine query...i had 2 USB ports at the bak of my PC n space fr installing USB hubs in front lik all new P4s...but the front ones didnt work so i opened it n saw the wires fr the front were not connected. I cheked various sites n connected all the wires :) and the system recognises 4 ports now...but smhow plugging devices in the front never works...y?

read the mobo manual ... i think it'll be the JUSB ...

Probability is either that the wires were not connected to the correct slots in the Mobo or the ports in the front or cables leading to them are defective.

no yaar wires r connected correctly coz the windows recognises the new ports...n my pc is assembled(assembled my self) so no manual fr MOBO

what does it mean windows detect the new ports?? are u connecting a USB card ot something because there is nothing like detecting a port. if it is there in the mobo it is already detected whether connected or not Mate. Becasse, as u may very well know, a connector is nothing but wires and a socket. there is nothing to detect.

BTW check if u plugged it in the wrong way around..

Strange! It should have come in the box containing the Mobo. In case you get it assembled, they may or may not give you many things like manuals, extra cables etc.

windows detected it means NEW HARDWARE found msg....

tht means the wires r connected corectly...is it?
