No matter when Vista ships I'm getting ready 4 it. Just wanna ask all of u if my configuration is a decent one. Here it is:>>

1. Intel D865GBF Motherboard
2. Intel Pentium 4 2.8GHz HT
3. Hynix 512MB 400Mhz DDR-RAM Module
4. Samsung 80GB HardDrive @ 7200rpm (running WinXP on D drive)
5. Sony DRU-710A Dual Layer DVD writer
6. A pathetic old Samsung CDRW drive

Q>> Should I need to buy a graphics card?

A>> If yes then which one. Plz give the entire details and the price. My budget can at the most be around 5K - 6K.

look best card at present situation is nvidia 6600gt versions I think , but that cost a little more here in india , so can you increse your budget a little bit .

remember u r going to pay 7k means ur card should give you service for about 2 yrs so check games like CRYSYS , oblivion what kind of graphics card they recommend .... because at present situation FEAR, DOOM 3 is the highest Graphics hungry game but they will soon be replaced by Oblivion , crysis all these .
Like I have the hard ware on which I can play DOOM 3 , FEAR easily , but I cannot play oblivion/crysis

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsvista/getready/default.mspx

click the "Evaluate Your PC" then follow the Instructions :D

your config is fine for graphcs work, plz state what is it, Photoshop, CG Art, or gaming

a 6600GT should be good enoug, there is no point in getting a new 7 series gfx card, cos they are short lived, as vista & directx 10 are arround the corner, & only 7800GS is available in AGP, with 7600GS to follow soon

either wait for a while, or get 6600GT
