Do you use Piratebay?

Broadband peneteration has icreased in India. Do you use Piratebay to download stuff? . I don't even have a broadband connection.

Well sometimes when I dont find good torrents at ISOHunt or Tspy I go there, but they are leaders and real brave, sorry to MPAA :p

yeah, TPB is a great, but i dont get good speeds from that site...i prefer demonoid :)

i use torrentz to search. then if i get the result in TPB, i download the torrent from there.

i very less use torrents i download the stuff diretly from rapidshare & magaupload and many other names.no need to give back which u download.the speed are good to with premium account.

yah i use it... and i support it a LOT... if possible i will try to mirror it in india due to weak IT laws and the legimity of the concept of bittorrent!!!

hehhe.... well this is only a dream. but i do use TPB a lot of times. but more frequently i use bitsoup, Torrentspy.....

Actually IsoHunt is not a tracker, its just a torrent indexing service.

TPB is excellent but the only prob is that it is very dificult to get connected to the tracker.

anyway the guys running it are superb

To all those who use Demonoid... almost all of its trackers are leaked onto PirateBay and ISOHunt and Torrentspy and Torrentz and what not... so its essentially not giving you good speeds...

Demonoid is not a private tracker. Not that the torrents are "leaked" but they themselves have allowed members to post in other (public) trackers.

Most of the torrents I download from torrent-spy.com are from Demonoid itself.

There invite system is not stringent. Anyone can invite others and it almost seems that we have unlimited supplies of invites.

And the user data and stats sucks. It does not work properly for most of the guys for most of the time.

IMO Demonoid is a public tracker.

then u guys shud try torrentleach.org. its the best private tracker i have seen. the speeds are awesome. stuff are released really fast there.

i usually get my max speed from torrentleech torrents.

Does any1 know how to control download-to-upload speeds ratio in BitComet?Sometimes my upload speeds go over 20 kbps while my download speeds r below 5. And cappping on upload speeds drastically reduces download speeds as well :(
If not, then doesn any other Torrent Client support this feature ?

u can shoose tha maximum and minimum limits for download. i keep it around 3-4 if it is a heavy file. it does at a rate of 12 kbps then.
if u want better speeds, good ratio, and good upload speeds, i suggest the official BitTorrent client. it is excellent. i m using it since three weeks.

Stop using BC ... Use either Bit Tornado, uTorrent or my personal fav, Azureus... BC lacks lots of stuff...

wow...i found BC to have the most feature rich UI (and that inbuilt IE renderer)
I have tried original BT....but it doesnt have the most basic features, plus the speed isnt all that good....its the same as that i get with BC. Another trial was with Torrentstorm,which uses BitTornado engine. Not bad,but still, it lacked some features. I had also tried Azu abt 3 months ago, but it couldnt configure my Firewall port, though i had already opened the port through my windows firewall :( So, i never gotta try it.
actually, i am downloading Office 2k7 beta and its abt 1.8 GB with the files i have selected. But the speed is really slow. Have been downloading for 24 hrs over 3 days, and only 60% is done so far. THat is, i have downloaded approx 1 GB and uploaded approx 700 MB. Now thats huge....anyway i can capitalise on this?
I am not being selfish here....and i dont mind seeding either but i need to get the file i want as fast as i can.

Guys use only BitTornado (which I use), utorrent or Azureus.

All others have some problem or the other. Most of the Private torrent trackers got these clients recommended (you'll be banned if you use another).

I do not know why but I tend to look on mininova first then TPB and then demonoid. Maybe because mininova is a lighter site which loads fast due to text only stuff and also because it has decent speeds for me too coz I keep 25D and 7U while dloading and no limit while upping so it does the trick fine.

Another one I look for stuff on in legaltorrents, good for public domain and CC licensed stuff.

I mostly use isohunt and mininova for torrents. Never used piratebay directly...

Actually torrent is good only if you want to download new or very popular stuff. You hardly get any seeders if you want some old games.

I just did a check(on torrentspy):

Max payne (old but popular) - 21 seeders
Freedom Fighters -- 1 seeder
Silent hunter 4 -- 99 seeders
Silent hunter 2 -- 2 seeders

So if you want 2-3 yr old games rapidshare is the way to go.

I am new to internet. Still I use ISOHunt.
There isn't much content on torrent leech, and the quality is not that good there. ISOHunt has most of TPB trackers so ISOHunt rulz.

i think torrentpsy is the best.....pirate bay doesnt remove fake files as faster a s torrentspy....they r really quick,in removing fake files......so..if its in torrentspy,its guaranteed tht the files r original...i am sure abt this,in the case of movies....i dont know abt appz,and game torrents from torrentspy...for downloading movie torrents i think torrentspy is the best.....
