Hello,

I went right ahead and bought the Nov 2004 Digit the minute I saw FreeBSD 5.2.1 on it. Little did I know it would contain RARs of the distro instead of the ISOs... I find that really silly?

Anybody here know how I can burn those onto bootable FreeBSD CDs?

I am aware of the floppy installation but I specifically buy hardware without FDs (I feel it's ancient! :) ).

Please advise.

Thanks,
Dmitri

Get winrar (it is free) from net and they use nero to burn those cds or you can do without that too, provided that you understand freebsd hard disk installation method.

All the best!

RAR of the distro ? Distros dont come in rar format... A CD image has to be ISO. you must have associaled .iso with WinRAR....

hi dmitry
u r mistaken
the freebsd images are indeed in iso format (i just double checked it on my dvd)...as GNUrag said, u must have associated .iso files with winrar and u must have disabled "view extensions" in ur folder options.
just go ahead and burn the images thru nero (or any other s/w that u use for burning cds).
