The fate of PS2

Hey guys can u plz tell me what would be the fate of ps2 after release of ps3?Will ps2 production be stopped after ps3 release?Will sony continue to release games for ps2 alongwith those for ps3?
Plz reply as i am planning to buy ps2 in near future.

PS2 units production will be stopped but the games releasing for it will cease only after 2-3 years, so be in peace. =)

man ps2 manufacture is stopped and so dont think that u will get nice titiles when ps3 will be launched man every developer will concentrate on ps3 not on ps2 so i dont htink its nice ideo to buy ps2 now
