Everything seems to be good. The game is as expected. Another from the madness series. BUT WHY THE HELL DIDN'T YOU PROVIDE A MOVIE! The Business Plan Deluxe could have been easily substituted by a movie which would have met everyone's interest.

Business Plan Deluxe: I think it's of no use to maximum of us.

DVD: Games, movies, eye candies look good but don't know how they will be in reality.

After a long wait, I got my copy of Digit from the stands today. The Digit 5th Anniversary Mega issue certainly does bring some surprises for all of us. Here is what I have to say…

The Positive Part

+ The issue has 224 pages + Fast Track with 180 pages
+ Digit has provided the DVD case for the CD and DVD (in the newsstand copies), which normally disappears in the Special issues (June & Dec)
+ The DVD has 10 Classics (Full Length Movies) and not eBooks as some people thought (including me)
+ More than 300 MB of MP3s for Music Lovers
+ 1200 Wallpapers
+ The Monster Truck Madness 2 and the Business Plan CDs come in their original box packing (in the newsstand copies), which makes the whole issue worth more than Rs.200/-.

A few Negative things

- The games provided on the DVD are the ones given with the latest edition of SKOAR, I think its just to fill up the Space.
- Bulky packing because of all the boxes provided (2 Books and 3 Boxes)
- Project Gutenberg CD, I believe we all would have at least 2 copies of them by now, both the DVD and CD, therefore I think it was not that necessary
- Also missing the previous Digit and Fast Track issues in PDF


I would certainly give this Special Issue 9/10. This is the highest ever marks I have given to anyone in my life because I am not very lenient. I don’t know if Digit really cares for this mark or not.

Well, its not the DVD format, but you can view them in windows media player. I played them on the same. I am not sure about the format.

The movies are all plain old MPEG or AVI and should run on any machine, except for the Halo Matrix thing which is MP4, and Core Wars which is HDTV and requires a slightly better config to run.

Yes the dvp 642k plays data cds. and i successfuly played the digit dvd and was able to watch those movies on my player. Thanks digit for giving such nice issue.

DIGIT is not very good when it comes to mobiles, I suppose. Whenever you have reviewed mobiles, they have been short and not too informative. In the extensive shoot-out this month, you made many mistakes. The most noticeable sufferer of your follies was SE W550i. Phones that have undeservedly been awarded more points than W550i:
Nokia 7360 - Hello!? The phone has just FOUR MB of internal memory and does not support external memory. The display's resolution is 128 x 160 and supports 64 K colours. Need I say more!
Nokia 6670 - A very SLOW jack of few trades! I really couldn't find anything in this phone's specs that could justify it being ranked above W550i and it looks like some sort of a mini brick.
Nokia 3230 - In cons, you have written, 'Bulky, slow'. Just saying that it is slow is an understatement. If it had been any slower, it would have been going backwards!
Siemens SL75 - If I was shocked by Nokia 7360's points, I have been floored by this one's! This phone did not even deserve to be classified as a 'Feature Rich Phone'.

Why wasn't there any marking for MP3 quality when you had five individual ratings relating to the camera? Isn't audio capability an important part of a multimedia phone? A rating for looks is also absent. And there should have been a column for the miscellaneous individual features that some phones have on offer. For example: the startup menu of the WALKMAN PHONES (i.e. the ability to play music even with the phone switched off), the 3D landscape gaming in W550i, etc. And you missed out Nokia 3250. It should have been a part of the shoot-out. W800i has already been stopped and W700i and W300i are already retailing in India.

Overall, the magazine is very satisfactory this time and deserved applause but this mobile phones shoot-out leaves a LOT to be desired. The witty style of writing in all the articles is very pleasing though and should be continued in future issues. Hope someone lends an ear (or both) to this huge essay! :)

I think I'm the last person on the subscriber list to get the magazine.7th of the month has been passed & just confirmed with the Blue Dart Courier that todays load has arrived & nothing for me in it.
The logistics at digit are the laziest people I ve ever seen. (or i should say never seen) coz they should know that newspapers & magazines are useless after a particular time.

Well, that's a disgrace but I subscribe for one magazine that actually delivered the magazine on 29th of the last month. It is the May edition I am talking about. Compared to them, DIGIT is very fast, isn't it? :D
But, of course, we shouldn't use losers as benchmarks.

The Monster Truck Madness CD was the one i received with my 2 year subscription gifts, much older, and the business cd is of no use as well

U ppl could have given an animation CD like Ice Age 2 or Polar Express

The humongous DVD contents sound a mouthful , though it is not that much of any use

The Only great and promising thing seems to be the Magazine Content, and the fast Track on Digital Audio

Digit should come up with special contents and more hardware offers like the one with the DVD Rom Scenario, these would be really useful

This is the 13th of June.

As per Blr office, my name is not on the courier list.

on checking with Bombay Ms Amarjeet, I am told that my copy has been sent thru post. Some customers in bangalore have been sent their copies by courier and some by post.. Have u heard of such bad treatment given to us who pay in advance and whatever is demanded by the magazine.


I have a good mind to withdraw my subscription and stop reading the magazine. Not only we do not get the correct packing for our copies but also late and without the cd covers etc, for the simple crime we have done that is paying for our copies in advance.


Digit is beginning to lose its name due to these minor issues which it can easily solve if they put their mind to it..

DVD - Most of the gmaes were on SKOAR!
Fastrack - Didn't care about Digital Audio
Magazine - Dissapointing. I didn't agree with most reviews. And I find it a bit ridiculous that 'the top 4 psp games' had scores of 7,7,8,6. I mean Wipeout Pure is Crap. There are other good games, Monster Hunter,Daxter etc.

Please post the model number of your drive here. If it's too old, chances are it doesn't support Dual Layer DVDs. If it does support, then please write to help@jasubhai.com for a free replacement.

Magazine is ordinary and is not any special issue because extra game CD is very very old and not fit to be played on our super fast machines. Digit should be hanging themselves in shame for cheating us by giving something useless at an increased price.

Its my utter displeasure to say that delivery service of DIGIT is going from bad to worse to TRASH as each month passes by. Its 15th June and i still havent recd the DIGIT Copy ! I wrote a mail to them on 13th abt this and they told me that they have dispatched the copy. Its 15th evening and no news of mag yet. There was a time when digit used to reach my home on last day of each month and now its already half of the month. They used to send us mail also abt the dispatch of mags but now they dont do it. Moreover i believe that they hv changed the courier and thats why i keep getting the mag late.

Do you guys get the mag on time or not ???

I can shamelessly say now that i am one of the most disatisfied customers of DIGIT and vows not to renew my subscription.

I would recommend you guys shift to a better means of courier like BlueDart or DTDC, instead of some "local" S.R.Speed Couriers... They might give you a better service at a slightly increased fare... but u surely wont have to hear all these rants from ur subscribers...

We do use Blue Dart, except for areas which they don't cover, in which case we go to a local courier who does deliver to that area. If nothing else, we resort to the postal system.

I can understand your frustrations, especially since it's the anniversary issue this time. Unfortunately, once the packaged magazines leave us and go to the courier, it's beyond our control. You could end up being a victim of a flat tyre on the courier's vehicle, or a lazy delivery boy, and we wouldn't have the power to do anything about it.

I assure you that we did finish the magazine on time, and it did ship on time. Unfortunately, we suffered a day-or-two delay thanks to some unexpected heavy rain. Beyond that, we've done all we could to ensure that you get your copies as soon as possible.

I dont know how many of you marked this, but there are roughly about 95+ full pages advertisements in the 222 Pages June 2006 Digit magazine. Now this is not the end as I haven't mentioned the half page adds which again counts more than 25. Now imagine, round about 50% of the magazine is full of adds and this is the highest percentage I have ever come accross.

Apart from this, most of the reviews conducted by Digit is on Hardware. Despite of regular requests from Digit readers to publish more on Software, they still stick to Hardware. Everyother month you will find a review either on Printer, MP3 Players, Monitors etc etc etc. Now this proves that the contents of Digit is highly influenced by these hardware companies. If this is so, another question arises here is how much reliable are the hardware reviews that are present in Digit???

Now guys, tell me one thing... Is this right??? Dont you think this is a very wrong thing being done with readers like us...

Well it is 17th of june and still I have not got my digit copy. Professional couriers is so slow. Thumbs down to team digit for such a decision. Courier man said that it takes about 4-5 days for the courier to reach Kerala from Mumbai. Now why did you guys change from Blue Dart to this slow one? No reply till now ,I received the copy on 17 june and checked the waybill no. of the courier at bluedart.com , It says the copy was dispatched on 15 June.

So that's the digit service.

My another encounter with Team digit

Renewed my subscription to digit under an offer for 1 year and I was supposed to get pen drive(as gift).Received mail on 10 Feb 2006 that gift will be sent to me after 6-8 weeks.

Wrote a mail to help@jasubhai.com on 13 May 2006 about the pen drive. Received a mail from some one called Manali Bagle that gift will be sent to me by second week of June.

Second week of June passed by but not received any free gift. Wrote a mail to Manali Bagle yesterday not received a reply yet.

I wonder if I will receive my pen drive.

Hi, I found one program called Massenger 3 !Plus. Let me inform you that this program is bundeled with Adwares and causes LOP infection. It can only be used safely if the user does not install sponsors' programs. Next time you include this S/W please consider of inclusion of this causion.
The anniversary issue is great but next time if you really want to provide a free full version game consider something more decent or do not give anything. MS MT is a very bad game with horrible graphics.

Messenger Plus 3 gives a fair warning to users, and installing that adware is purely optional. If you dont read what you are installing and blindly agree then you can blame only yourself.

You beeing a self proclaimed Alpha Geek should not think that all others are like that. If it would have been so then I did not have to deal with a good number of cases with LOP infection. Cigarette packets carry statutory warning but that does not stop people from smoking. Will you asks social causes groups to stop working against tobacco because it carries a warning? I beleive informing its user base about this MPlus3 program is a social duty of digit.

First of all accept my heartiest thanks for the very nice Digit "package" of June 2007. I am a regular subscriber of the magazine from the local news-stand. However I am sorry to say that I have received two copies of Microsoft Office Professional 2007 with the magazine. However the dual layer DVD (containing softwares, etc) is found missing in the packet.
Is it possible to send me a copy of the DVD? I ma ready to return you back the extra Office 2007 CD I have received.
Please reply early so that if it's not possible for you I may buy another Digit to get the DVD into my collection.
