Printer Malfunction HELP

In my college we have a dot matrix printer. Which is now a days only printing WINDOWS PRINTER TEST PAGE & nothing else, even though we want to print a document or any other stuff.
How this can be troubleshooted ?

1)check wheather u have installed the driver properly
2)check for ribbon wear
3)check the number of print jobs

check if it is selected as default and u r not printing to another printer...
if it prints the rest page then all is corect withthe printer and windows.. the err is either human or of the software u r printing from
