Go for 7600 GS.It offers higher Bandwidth.Only the clock speed is a little low.But u can overclock it for better performance.

@every1
i dont know much of graphic cards but am plannin 2 buy 1 , so can any 1 tell me what the number like 6600 signify in a graphic card and the suffixes GS and GT what do they mean , and yes what is 'fps' rating 4 a game...

@forever
the numbers signify.... the series of the cards....
for eg 6600 , 6800 , 6200 etc belong to GeForce 6 series...
similarly 7600, 7800 , 7900 corresponds to 7 seires....
suffixes like GS, GT tell to the performance off tht graphic card....
for eg... swift car has got models like Zxi, Vxi etc.....
llly 6600 has got 6600 Gt, 6600 Gs....
Also these cards hav got differnt MAke/ manufactures....
for eg 6600 ** from XFX , GIGABYTE, ASUS etc...
Thus their prizes vary from one make to other....
ALSO "FPS" if im not wrong is unit by which gprahic cards performance is measured....
If a particular game at particular settings gives '30 FPS' at one graphic card n same gives '50' at other, then the second one is better......
I hope u r sattisfied.....

vmhatre, nice little info you have given... about the fps, i would like to mention that it is not adirect comparision as it depends on the game needs and the card make, but it gives you a fair amount of idea.... Anyways its fps which you gonna see..... so its all that gonna matter......

definitely the 7600GS over the 6600GT ... they oc like hell on the core on stock cooling .. and even at stock it'll out perform the 6600GT by 10-15% .... and imagine after oc'ing ...

yup jay i know its not a direct comparision b/w cards.... but i had mentioned a particular game at PARTICULAR setting....
ANYWAYS THNX FOR UR REPLY THIS WULD HELP @forever
I know tht graphics card r compared by its clock speed, memory bandwidth, Bus speed.....etc
ANYWAYS THNX

Everyone should go by performance. Though the 7600GT is the later generation card yet the 6800 Ultra outperforms any current cards until the 7800GTX. If you wanna definitely settle for an outstanding card XFX 6800Ultra 256MB DDR3 or the Leadtek 7600 GT TDH Extreme 256MB DDR3 should be the unianimous choice.
Overclocking itself is a dangerous issue as it nullifies the warranty offered by the manufacturer and hence if something happens while doing it your card would rest in pieces.
Be careful while buying it.

Shovik.

7600 GS isnt worth the bucks...better go for 7600 GT or if u can afford more, then X1800 GTO

Not worth the bucks ? Forsa 7600 GS 256Mb is going away for 7.5k
When you turn on AA an AF there is a lot of performance drop in 6600 GT while in 7600GS there is not much peformance drop and here lies the major difference. 7600GS can be a very well susbstitute for 6600 GT
@deathvirus , i have heard you quoting that 7600GS cards are also found with ddr3 mem but i never fround on , not even on newegg.com

Dude 7600Gs n 7600 Gt are not even comparable.....
Theres a major difference btw them when u play games with AA n AF ON...Also frame rate in the later one is greater by about 8-15FPS

7600 Gt- high end gfx card
7600 Gs- mid range gfx card
If you have the budget go for the GT version

Sorry m8, gotta correct what u said....
GeForce 7600 GPU as such is a mid-range,medium power gfx processor, just like the 6600 one. It is true that they both r l8est GPUs, but that doesnt make them high-end or powerful. GT is the better model while GS is just like cr@p IMO.
Truly high-end gfx processors r 6800 and X850 (but both r old now) or X1800 and X1900 and 7900.

7600 GS isn't crap. It costs the same as the 6600GT but performs far better. Real value for money IMO.

arrey yaar. go for the 7600gs it performs better than the 6600gt and costs as much. and btw 7600gs has 256mb of memory not 128mb.

and 7600GT comes with 256mb & 7900GT with 512 naa or 7900GTX comes with 512mb.
