Hello Mates,

Can anyone tell me how to connect my PSTN Sancharnet connection using pppconfig and pon? I tried configuring my account using pppconfig, but it didnot detect any modems. I chose ttyS1 casually and put in the other info. I tried to use pon with all the switches, but it didnot connect. Please help.

I have a D-Link internal modem and Ubuntu the warty warthog release.

http://132.68.73.235/linmodems/packages/scanModem.gz download this tool. It will check what modem u have and which drivers you will need for it.

Open a Terminal Window and type : gksudo network-admin. This opens the 'Network Settings'. If you have a modem, select the 'Modem Connection'. Clicl 'Properties' (Alt + P). In the 'General' tab check the checbox ' Enable this connection'. Give your phone number to dial, username, password etc., You may also modify the modem settings in the "Modem' tab.
Goodluck.
