View Full Version : OpenDarwin and FreeBSD vedant_15 12-11-2004, 02:09 PM Is OpenDarwin better than FreeBSD? firewall 12-11-2004, 05:24 PM Well it depends whether it fits to your needs or not... never used OpenDarwin... though FreeBSD is really nice... :) oldmonk 13-11-2004, 10:06 AM opendarwin has a long way to go before it becomes remotely usable. I tried to install it once but it had problems with my chipset or something. Freebsd is much more mature and recognises a lot more hardware. GNUrag 14-11-2004, 01:35 PM FreeBSD is one of the better known Unix distributions ... however OpenDarwin seems to be in its infancy still... its been something like 1 year since it was launched.... they have taken code directly from Apple's original Darwin source repository... on good thing is that i can taste the power of Darwin on an intel processor also... |
