recently, my system is facing too many problems. i have XP SP2 with 256 MB RAM and 700 mhz cpu.

1.) i get this error whenever i close IE7.

2.) i could not run Trackmania Nations. I got a memory error.

3.) i could not run Cricket 2005. same error.

4.)also, avast! is hogging up the system.

i have 20 GB hard disk. 7 GB is free.
pls help.

That error may occur due to some small problem in the data transfer from Page Files to RAM. Please ignore it

If that error occurs very often then u need to change ur RAM modules

remove the antivirus abd trey to scan ur system wih those cd which are bootable

try installing a freash copy of windows

If you have Knoppix, you can use the Memtest option to test your memory for corruption.

Just boot into Knoppix and type "Memtest", without quotes, in the knoppix prompt.
