Hi friends,
I have a 80mm fan which suck air from outside through which dust also came in to my cabinet and fan also covered with dust can u help me how could I prevent dust to came inside my system

i dont think u can prevent it but u can clean it

Keep it in a clean environment pref ac.

i think the FAN should be in opposite direction for better cooling

The fan is on the front or rear

make sure u have atleast two fans for cooling one for intake and the other for exhaust.Also,don't place u'r PC in a dusty environment.

HOw do we know whether the applied fan is working as a cooler ie sucking air inside or exhaust ie throwing air outside...
n also where to place which fan.
i mean in front pannel which fan also in rear pannel which fan...
also a t side which fan shld be applied....

Better you remove the inlet fan completely from your PC CASE. It must be located in the front panel grid from inside the cabinet. (Below the harddisk).


Remember : Always use an inlet FAN only if you are working in an Air-conditioned room, otherwise you should never use it at all.

To clean the CASE anyway, use a blower (light speed) to blow off the dust.

Pardon me for m ignorance but can you explain why shouldnt there be a fan for inlet circulation of air without an AC ?? Most people dont have ACs so they work around with the fan quite conveniently

Actually i agree with wht TECH & ME said...
working with an inlet fan in non ac can introduce hot air inside the cabinet..
thus increaing the temperature...
But on the other hand if the pC is placed near by a common ceilling fan, then tht will do
Actually inlet fan blows the air having room temperature, inside the cabinet..
IF ur room is hot then such fans r not prefered..
Instead blowing out fans hold good at such places..

This is one of the reason no one provides an inlet fan pre-fitted with a cabinet when you purchase them. However, some cabinet do come with a rear outlet fan already fitted on to it.

Well cleaning your Case interiors with a domestic blower once in a week helps maintaning your PC and keeping it in good shape.

First of all keep your PC in a dust-free room. If your
PC is in the second room, don't open the second room's
Windows. Open only the first room's Windows. I think
the main problem in your case is that the room gets
lots of dust. Also clean the cabinet with a air-blower
atleast once in a month. Also make sure the room
is well-ventilated.

Vacuum cleaners with their fast air suction create a lot of static electricity which gets concentrated on the tip of the hose - take care not to let the the tip near any parts in the case sensitive to static electricity - an answer I came across was to wrap the tip of the hose with cardboard thus keeping the tip away from the chips and CPU and ram.

Also make sure the air flow does not make the fans inside the case spin wildly as they can get damaged when they are spun at very high speeds.

Hmm i do agree with wht EAZY said..
I had forgotten to tell this, even i use my vacuum cleaner at low folw while cleaning electronics..
Also i wear an anti static belt at my wrist while cleaning this devices..
though this belt is not reqiured..

yeah i know man,but i'll prefer a small drop in temp,and for that even if it requires a weekly clean i wont mind...
ntw, my PC resides on a clean area..no dust....no cleaning for atleast 1 month!!

I have got 2 fans tomorrow and connected it my PC the fanon the back draws the air out of the cabinet and another is on the side panel which sucks air inside. My cabinet has no place to add a fan in the front. I want to know that I had connected the fans in right way

if you are in a dusty env, then just keep the side cover open, the pc is going to get dusty anyway. By keeping open, atleast the temp will be kept low.

Also don't use powerful vacuums, they could blow away some delicate components

here iam ... having coolermaster Ultra Vortes running on a server chasis, have 1 front intake fan,i side intake fan, i rear out fan ... and the idle temp is 54!!

and on load it goes o 67-69max....wheras before on stock cooling it was 78-80 .... !!!

Here... cry about this.... attached screenie of MotherBoardMonitor readings in my setup ..... these are idlings temps - I dont run Benchies or games so no LOAD temps but on 100% CPU usage temp goes max to 43C. No A/C and room temp is 31C.

My setup P4 2.4C @ 3.0 .... HSF = Zalman 7000CU .... case Antec P160 with 3 x 120mm fans.

Right answer !! :D

The reason I showed my temps was to show that with the right amount of airflow in the right direction and proper cable management it is possible to get decent temps. I use 2 Antec 120mm fans and one Vantec 120mm fan. These are by no means powerful fans with high CFMs - but by throwing air directly over the CPU with one 120mm fan the CPU temps are pretty low. Anyone can do this - its no biggie.
