computer not switching on

help me guys....
when i switch my comp,the cpu is getting switched on but it is giving a beep sound but the monitor is getting switched on.. i think it is a ram pblm.. i even cleaned the ram slots and the ram with a cloth but no use.....

Is it a one long beep?
Try to clean the carbon layer with rubber If it doesnt work then you can try u r friends ram on ur pc or vice-versa.

how many beeps are there if u r getting one long beep then either the ram is gone or the ram is not seated properly

3 short beeps 64k Ram failure.So it is to be a memory error.Try to seat your ram properly ,and check in your both (generally 2 slots)slots.
Have u checked anothe working Ram in your PC or your Ram at any other PC.

and check your memory.

i placed my ram inmy freindscomp... it is working... and alsoiplaced his ram...but this time nobeeepand also comp did not get switched on
