NO cheap card with 256Mb Vram will be able 2 utilise the extra vram properly. U r best bet should be getting a 128Mb card with a good price/performance ratio. The extra Vram is just a marketing gimmick by vendors. Get a 9600 or a 9600pro though costly but will see u thru most new games.

and putting up a budget will be much better !

Eat dirt blade_runner. There is an NVIDIA 256 mb geforce fx 5700
available 4 just 7500rs. The card is made by ennyah and gives decent performance.

I think the guy mentioned cheap. for another 1K I can get the Raedon 9800 Pro mate. Why would I bother with the FX5700 at that price...or perhaps u consider 7500 Rs to be cheap ?

Umm. the 96pro is way better than the 5700.

Btw i think the one u are talkin about is an LE.

[and this comes from a nvidia user]

and i might add the LE's SE's and all those "EDITIONS" suck ...
@jazz read properly before u get excited and ... well type what u did .
NO cheap card with 256Mb Vram will be able 2 utilise the extra vram properly
the 5700 might give good performance ... but the fact that blade pointed out was that the 256 wont be utilised PROPERLY as u can see
hence he suggested a better option ie a 128 mb card within the same range ...
it makes sense cuz ur payin for the 256 mb ram but u arent utilising it to its full capacity

All right all right.. dont get mad at me.. I just thought that 7500 was cheap for a 256 mb grapfics card. With games like doom3, stalker and hl2, a CHEAP graphics card aint just the right alternative.

lol bring on DX9 games like Farcry and 5700 will come to its knees. I would suggest staying away from entire GF FX range, they suck at DX9 PS2.0 and thats universal truth.
If you dont have 25-30K to fork out on current generation card best deal in 9600 pro or 9800 pro.
9800 pro will last you longer than any GF FX.
